Some pin!

A pin with the text "Not tonight, dear...it's a felony."

I recently moved all of my prescriptions from Capsule (because they wouldn't fill my Ritalin) to the Walgreen's inside of Howard Brown Health's Rogers Park location. In their waiting area, they have two big framed boards full of vintage gay rights pins. These are some of my favorites:

An assortment of pins with slogans: "Love the Heterosexual Hate Their Sin", "Hate is not a family value", "Family Values" (with the V replaced by a pink triangle, and "Parenting by Choice not Chance"
For those who may be unaware: the pink triangle replacing the "V" in family values is a queer protest icon reclaimed from it's original use as a badge used to identify gay men in Nazi concentration camps.
Pins reading "Be Creative Invent A Sexual Perversion" and "HALF GAY"
A pin reading "Immoral Minority"
A pun on the name of Jerry Falwell's "Moral Majority" movement/organization. Founded in 1979, it "played a key role in the mobilization of conservative Christians as a political force" (Wikipedia)
A pin reading "Not tonight dear...it's a felony"
Remember: Gay sex wasn't even legal everywhere in the US until the 2000's.
A pin reading "Show good taste: Legalize Sodomy"
A pin reading "Take a Transvestite to Lunch"
A pin reading "MACHO SLUT"
A pin reading "I prefer to remain ambiguous"

Funny story: I was born and raised in Appalachia, and do not hear a phonetic difference between the words "pin" and "pen". It's known in linguistics as the pin-pen merger.
